15lbs in under 2 months, thanks to a low-carb diet and 2+hours cycling a day, 5x a week.
I've been off the diet and cut down the cycling for almost a month now, the weight is still staying off.

Key to losing weight is eating less but healthy food and exercise. Sometimes it's hard to lose weight because it is easier to eat lots of food (hmmm chicharon bulaklak) than have lots of exercise.

Bike to work and long rides on weekends. Invested in a Heart rate monitor. i stayed away any baked goodies ,fried and fatty foods. Replaced my cup of rice with 2 cups of Kangkong. fiber was my friend. Weight lifting- low weight high reps no little rest between sets.

Just like MaxB, alang nangyayari. I'm still 120 lbs from the time I started Mtbiking three years ago. (No intentions of really losing weight just enjoying the sport like everybody else.)
Sadya lang kaya na talagang dehins ako tabain?
Mayroon ba talagang ganoon sir mad_doc?

Dont depend too much on BMI to much it's for me the body compostion is a bit more important. With BMI its simply your weigth against your height that is why some body builders when using BMI computation they come out as obese

that's true but if you know you don't have a "bodybuilding" quality body yet, having a sound bmi score is a good way to measure up for obese or overweight people. besides you've gotta lose the fat first before you start gaining the muscle. muscle mass is so much harder to gain than fat (obviously ) so if your overweight and plan to be "in shape" bmi score is a good way to instantly know and check your status/progress/results

my BMI comes out as being obese class I though i'm praying i don't look like it.... ( but i wonder why the kids at the sta. rosa trail were calling us tabatsoy hmm ) but you're right, i may not look like a poster ad, but i certainly feel like one, especially after doing one of the trails (Bataan, Peak 3, Sta. Rosa ;D) and best news of all for me is..... i could now close 4 of my pants whose ends i used to have to pin together, and use a very large belt so they wouldn't fall off

From 230lbs to 155lbs in 14months. Not all due to MTB but low fat diet, a little free weights, and alot of cardio.

Just keep repeating myself never gain weight after 2 years got tied down. Coming from PI I was 135 (20 years ago) gain 15 then. I'm 150 lbs average since 1992 and eat everything. My motto is if I eat more I excercise more.

Loosing weight is not really a big deal. Kasi baka mamaya, nag loose ka ng weight pero nanghina ka naman, that is bad, babagsak ang pump ng puso natin nyan.
It's how we convert it to energy.
Example, umabot ako ng 220 lbs dahil sa katakawan then nag-bike ako, for the past 5 years still 220 lbs. ang weight ko pero nawala ang taba, pumalit ang mga muscles, not just muscles but quality muscles especially on the legs and abs.

That's a good point. It doen't matter if you loose weight or not, the important thing is that you have a good organ function(heart, lungs, liver, etc..) especially during times of physical stress. >:(And if you feel that your not loosing weight maybe its because your gaining muscle which is heavier that fat, which Bernie pointed out. As for me, I just wanted to improve my endurance and weight loss was an ACCIDENT ;D. But since I'm there already, I just tried to approximate a balance between my IDEAL weight vs. my height.

Yep, if you loose weight then retain your strength or even improved it, aba, it's a good achievement, bihira lang ang nagkakaganyan.
Even Boxers who tried to lose weight lose around 15% ofstrength, kaya natalonoon si Manny P. sa isang Thailander di ba, ibinagsak niya ang timbang niya, nanglambot tuhod niya.

Oo nga, I remember that match. He was trying to loose weight in the last few hours before the match. In the end nadehydrate at napagod lang sya. olats tuloy.
May mga boxing fans pala dito... NFL kaya? Im rooting for the New England Patriots for this year 7-1 na standing.

Kasi alam nyo ba na yang Table ng Height at Weight na madalas nating makita sa mga libro, clinic, internet, actually mga "DESIRABLE" o recommended lamang yan pero it does not mean na kapag di mo na gets ang table na yan e unhealthy ka.
Design lang yan ng mga Insurance Company.
Example: Mr. Lou Ferrigno's Height is 6'5" and weighs around 310 lbs.
Kung susundin natin ang Table ng Height at Weight, he is more than Overweight.
But the thing is, he is not fat but muscular, so he's not prone to cardio vascular diseases.
Pero most of us kasi, lose weight para pumogi e he he he next na lang yung sa health purposes

(grabe ang lalim nga lang he he) tama si bernie, why do we try to lose weight? para pumogi !!!! para more....... aherm......har har
