Marami nang debate dito tungkol sa pasma. Totoo ba talaga to?
Ako kase di naniniwala sa pasma...sana tama ako hehehe ;D. Like for example, nag-sa-shower ako right after mag-gym. So far, wala naman akong nararamdamang masama.

di ko sure kung may english word counterpart yung "pasma".
eto yung sinasabi nila na masama daw mabasa ng tubig ang katawan after a hard physical activity (i.e. cycling, basketball, gym, etc.)

Baka mapasma, yun ang laging sabi ng matatanda pagkatapos magtrabaho and then you wash your hand. At saka masama raw manligo sa gabi, ang sabi nila...... Pero after a hard work or strenous physical activity and then taking a cold shower, I think is not good for the body. Normally after a ride, I take a warm shower, it feels refreshing.

The good thing, after the shower drink a cup of coffee while surfing the web. Hmmm no wonder I'm always go to bed late and weak up early. But masama daw after long cardio in bed then take shower. ;D ;D ;D ;D

I think "pasma" have something to do with the hot and cold theory of disease wherein the body is under stress undergoing extremes of temp. eg.from streneous activities then having a "cold" shower( warm is fine) or let ur body cool down first. This is also known as yen yang the fundamental concept of chinese medicine.

Di naman masama maligo pagkatapos ng physical activity, basta above warm level ang temperature ng ipang-liligo mo in order to maintain the present body temperature of your body ung kahit nakaligo ka na ay pinagpapawisan ka parin until u cool down to ur normal body temperature. At siyempre quick shower kung ang normal bathing time mo is 20-25 mins gawin mo nalang 10-15 mins.

There's no such thing as "pasma"If you fail to take a bath{warm bath} after riding, you'll get "putok" and if you still fail to take a bath the next day, this will develop in to what we call "BAKTOL."

It came from the word "Mapasama"
In 1946 some balikbayan was trying to practice some tagalog words and one of his pamangkin after doin some hard work took a bath and the balikbayan said "Baka mapasama ka" Slang kasi kaya naiwan ang "a"

Actually, it is the condition of our body that needs to balance the temperature... Most of the athletes, take a shower with warm water or mas maiinit ng konti sa actual body temperature natin. Ang nangyayari kasi after extrenous or any heavy activity ang metabolism ng katawan natin is mabilis therefore the heart pump more blood going to the tissue and cells of the body until it meets the demand for the cellular activity... Then the heart tend to back to its normal beat... Eto ang scenario kung bigla tayong maliligo with tepid or cold shower after the activity, the heart again pump more to balance the temperature with the command of the brain (hypothalamus), therefore the body needs a faster metabolism to produce more heat to regulate the whole body to bring it in a homeostasis - a balance condition of the body.......

Pero kung if youre not use to it, baka bigla kang mag faint... Iba iba kasi ang coping or adaptation mechanism ng human being...

there really isn't any known medically certified text that includes the symptoms of "pasma" if you will check carefully all of its descriptions you'll see that it is a mixture of things ranging from heat exhaustion, over exertion, hyperventilation, hypothermia, hyperthermia, muscular dystrophy, atony, palsy, and last but not the least pneumonia hanep no? tama yung binangit kanina bout the swimmers? triathletes, duathletes, mountain climbers, adventure racers, and soldiers... can you imagine a sniper trying to take aim with his hands shaking? ;D (for that matter how bout those who like to do their eherm... adventures in the tub? or lake? or beach? ) dito sa atin kasi sobrang daming pamahiin kaya naghahalo halo na lahat. nagiging wastebasket diagnosis. by this we mean that anything and EVERYTHING that couldn't be explained away normally is attributed to our ever reliable PASMA.

I don't let my hands wash with water after a day of long encoding. I have observe that my hands and fingers get little shakey or quake. What I do take a little rest before I wash them. Someone suggest, get a pale half full of warm water and put salt on it then "ibabad ang mga kamay" for a few minutes. This will remove the shake. I guess this more hygienic way rather pissing your hands.
