never bike on dark streets without any bike light - endo aku sa butas bagong gawa pala yung drainage, worst naka clipless aku luckily my hydration pack broke my fall, then sabi ng tricycle driver after getting up "may butas dyan..." Hehe, same thing happened to Bobong while we were going up Batasan at night. He opted to ride at the sidewalk. I stayed on the road and was going to warn him to be careful 'cause it was too dark and I think there was an open manhole/drainage somewhere along the sidewalk. Too late, I heard a loud noise and saw him getting up. Hard lesson learned through 2 scratched stanchions.

To always warm up on the smaller stuff.
Took a pretty good crash hitting the bigger jumps on my first go of the day. Bruised my right thigh & right forearm just below the elbow.

no crashes so far on my new bike... maybe because i haven't done real trails yet...
had my fair share of little incidents before when i was riding a rigid bike. on one occasion i was experimenting with the front brake that i pulled it so hard. front brake was on right hand and sort of confused me (bike shipped from middle east). speed was soo fast that in a split second the bike slammed me to the ground like a sledgehammer. the scene was on he busy part of our street and everyone was watching. weird that i didn't felt embarrassed, but was somewhat proud and happy about the stunt i made.
oh, and there's another one... there's a long and steep downhill stretch next to our street. tried to ride as fast as i could, suddenly realizing my old school not-on-top condition v-brakes couldn't handle the situation. first thing that came to mind was to grab the nearest tree branch. i so did it without thinking further. the branch was strong but momentum swung me to another tree trunk. the bike flew and tumbled violently as far as i could see... poor bike.
what i learned in random order: 1. it was fun but i won't do it agian on purpose, felt good to smile afterwards 3. don't do unnecessary experiments 3. don't hesitate, trust your instincts and it will save you 4. learn to maintain your bike properly, and check often 6. little and big experiences makes you tough 7. learn to love your bike 8. convert your right hand drive to left hand drive ;D 9. be alert, don't underestimate the terrain

what i have learned on a crash? hahahahahah i crashed last sat at roxas trails!!!! the single track is an adrenaline rush!!!!! what i learned is that the brakes is the most important thing to perfect!!!! i've learned hat i should not ht the full brakes even im out of control and never to hit the frnt brakes when going downhill in great speed even your in the end of the hill! another thing is to never look at the road your running into!!! you should look from about 4-5 feets away from your wheel never minding the road!! another is gather all of your courage and if your going down hill (off road or fire roads) is to never stop!!! just slow down if you want to but never stop and dont squeeze the front lever to much! just give it a little click using the front brakes as a support only. about my crash9 luckily ive already learned how to crash properly hehehehe! never use your hands or palm to stop you from flying or stoping the impact of the fall or crash.. just the bad thing about my crash is that i got so nervous and ddnt knoew what to do! so at the foot of the hill rattling i hit the rear brakes so hard it made a skid so longd then hit the frot brakes making an endo a we call it! there was a pack of earth and some trees, voila!!!! i had an amazing crash leaving a so big bruise on my lower abdomen and som on my left leg!!!! but as my new motto!!!! stand up and laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the lesson is perfect the braking techniques!!! and gather all of the skills when going a single track off road downhill! another thing listen to the people who have already done the downhill to have you some advice!!!!!

What I learn from a crash???
Its fun to crash once in a while, as long as there's no serious injuries... I learn to laugh at myself & from my mistakes. I don't feel stupid when I crash, I, most of the time would like to know how far can I go. Its a thrill to be careless once in a while. Whenever I crash, you'll see a big smile in me and a loud laugh. YAHOO!!!

Last saturday after the Bike Park planning session where I was saling-pusa, I joined the merry group of trials masters Patrick, Joolz01, Peng and coilerblue in a joyride of sorts from the Baywalk area. Naturally they can do a lot of stuff on their bikes (like jump into or over stuff) that I can't so I just tagged along and followed them admiring their mad skills. All was fine until we encountered some wet stuff near a sidewalk which our skillful friends hopped over easily. Now I too can hop the bike a little bit but for fear of not making it and making a fool of myself, I decided to tread the water instead since I thought I was familiar with the area. Big mistake. It turned out that the gutter is pretty deep or there is a hole in the gutter and I endoed big time, smashing my right knee into the sidewalk because my feet were still clipped into the pedals and I unsconsciously broke my fall with my right hand. Result: scraped knee and sprained palm. Thankfully it wasnt that painful to stop me from joining the Kandila DRT ride the next day hehehe ... but it still hurts, especially the ego hehe.
Lesson#1: don't ride bike on muddy water near gutter - always assume that it is too deep Lesson#2: don't try urban assaulting with a bunch of a lot more skilled bikerz ;P

i had four crashes in one ride before - LICAO-LICAO Ride it is.
It was really a muddy condition for the trails at that time and the road were really slippery - considering all muds have stucked in my tires and at the same time the trails are some how wet. I was totally drifting on the trails.
NOT ENOUGH SKILLS TO HANDLE THE SLIPPERY CONDITION OF THE TIRES AND THE TRAIL>>>
At the end of the ride, realization time . . . now i know what to do . . . do not ride against the nature - - - mud behavior ! ! !

A lesson I learned recently... when you come off a clean ride on a tough technical trail, and you're coasting home on cement, stay alert, because that's when shite happens.
Me go down. Motorcycle go up. Come arond curve, bump. Hole in fork, new legs cost 8000+...

must be true...according to stats lots of bicycle accidents happen just a short distance from the riders house. I definitely support the statistic. Two of my worst bike mishaps happened while I'm within 30 feet of my house AND both happened when I was just playfully trying tricks on my bike sans helmet, sans gloves or any form of protection. Now I've learned that I am safe as long as I don't try to do things that are waaaay beyond my puny skills hehe ..

Last tuesday...(August 07, 2007) it's been raining since last night... since I don't have any trail ride engagement and I'm ashtamed by the way I did at Cardiac last 08-04-07...I decided to take a few hours of paved road at Southwoods... on an ascend goin to San Jose...I try to ride on the left side of the road where there is this water flowing from the upper part of this place... as I climb the ascend... my front wheel started to became wabbly and then ka-plunk Trekky and I crushed due to the sliperry gutter... hehehehe... I just quickly pick myself and my bike while laughing at my self for crashing... I have learned that sometimes its fun to fall on your bike, and due to your laughter, although your shin is bleeding hard you cannot feel any pain...
