Nino for the win sa mens. and sa womens naman hmmm. either si jolanda neff considering na injure pa eto 5weeks ago. or si kate courtney . Not sure why Yana BELOMOINA is not joining the race since shes currently the 1rank sa womens.

let's assume that all athletes improved at the same rate, the biggest mistake that nino will make aside from crashing is giving it all right at the start, similar to what happened at lenzerheide (iirc), na napaupo nalang sya after crossing the finish line. right after that buntot nalang sya sa 2nd at aatake sa last few laps. what's fascinating is that he always overtakes on ascents.
based on what i've observed from 2017, the contenders are all good, but still fairly new in terms of exposure relative to schurter. the biggest challenge i see in xco is the mental aspect. once a rider looses concentration, mistakes happen and severely affects lap time.

Sam and Annika.

riders also need luck ika nga, kahit gano pa kalakas or kagaling.
yes ritchey clipless gamit nya.
maraming possibilities e. from our angle we can't tell why he kept himself behind gaze for the most part... is he doing it because he's running out of fumes and conserving energy and just waiting for gaze to burn out and attack at a good section - he might have waited for too long imo. was he doing it for the show (ie sprint to the end) - big risk imo if you know you can do it at the beginning. on the last 50m, his rear wheel was slipping was that a sign of massive watts unleashed that may have contributed to an unsynchronized pedaling motion which eventually unclipped the left foot, or a classic case of mechanical failure.
at an official time difference of 0.01s (10 milliseconds), that is a d@mn short time to become second! which may also be the equivalent of how much time a strong rider loses if accidentally unclips in a sprint.
from a marketing standpoint, it's good for for spez, lol, not really good for scott specially ritchey. at least the wireless eagle blackbox isn't to blame lol

I will definitely be following World Cup XCO a lot more closely this year. It looks like it won't be as one-sided as 2017.
Btw, I thought Gaze won it on the bridge before the last turn. He had good power at the top of the bridge and good technique with the hop to the ramp going down. Nino getting unclipped wasn't a factor, imho.
