Frame arrived earlier today, was given to me by a good friend from Hawaii. not sure how road bikes are measured but this one measures 58cm from center of BB to top of the top tube. I basically have no knowledge or interest in road bikes whatsoever...yet but am wanting to learn about it and see where it goes. The thought of using a road bike as a training bike seems good right now but its gonna take a while to get built up. Here it is: right now this is all i have and a Ritchey handle bar. Ill read more on the topics we got here to get more ideas. Any comments and tips will be greatly appreciated regarding building it and what entry level or decent parts i need. I dont have the budget to bling it up roadie style. My plan is to have a very decent road worthy road rig. TIA

58 cm I think is perfectly your size if you around 5'11" to 6.0". I will give you my ultegra L/R shifter/brake for free just have a little scuff on the name (plastic of top portion) but function properly. find a person going back home an I will send it.

Training using road? I'm still skeptical. I think all it does is take the monotony of mountain biking away. If you wanna train, I think you should stick with your MTB- only, train with the same intensity as you will exert in a race.
Gastos lang yan. Sell it.
Give me first dibs! Magkano? ;D

One main adjustment I had to make from mt biking to road biking is the fact that I had to deal with too much vibration/shock, because of the absence of shock absorbers. So I will offer some ways of dampening the vibrations. and cannondales are generally stiff bikes, specially what you have which is aluminum all throughout, the stiffest material.
1. wheelset, mavic kysriums are stiff, the zircal spokes don't absorb any of the road shock. It's a safer bet to got with wheels with steel spokes, some kysriums have it, or carbon spokes, spinergy has them, topolino too. 3. fork (which normally comes with the frame, but missing in your case; go for a full carbon fork, the one with carbon steerer tube) 4. saddle/seatpost (again, go carbon, and if possible, if weight and wallet permit it, saddle with carbon rails.

sir ask ko lang, before you start anything with your bike and spending a maybe a grand or more, anong height mo? it seems that your friend is tall...usually that size only fits with caucasian guys..or taller asian dudes.. for me it's a good way or alternative way para mapaimprove mo pa ang aerobic capacity mo (which in turn will benefit your mountain biking).. when you opt for roadbiking the size and fit of the frame really matters coz after all you'll be in the bike for more than an hour and will be churning out kilometers all the way..if you have a poor fit, chances are madali kang mangawit and yung power delivery ay dehins ganun ka-effective..

Thanks so much for the info sir,my friend who gave it to me is not really as tall as i am.im not sure where he got it (frame). he just said he found the frame and it should fit me then sent it over. im around 6"1' and this frame still looks big for me. Siguro im about the same height as sir Allegra and he uses a size 56 and according to him it fits him well. this frame is just bigger by 2cm so im hoping its not gonna be a problem. sorry to confuse you but im a guy ;D

no problem sir..kala ko po kasi gal kayo.. hehehe!!!i agree with mr allegra..it would be best to determine your correct size..normally they do ti by getting your inseam first(from your crotch till the floor) then from there they will calculate what frame size fits you..

Hello, I suggest you check this site they have a fit calculator that measures certain body parts. After inputting the requested measurements, they will show you a table on the 3 kinds of bike fit; a. the competitive fit - recommended for sprinters, triathletes b. the Eddy fit - recommended for stage races c. the French fit - recommended for stage races

yeah, with a little patience and haggling you can probably set it up, including all the other parts you need (wheelset, bars, seatpost, saddle, etc., etc) , for less then P10k.
