a custom Seven, Independent Fabrication, Sycip, Vanilla, Richard Sachs, Ted Wocijk.. without a budget limitation one of each would be nice on a budget, you still cant beat the price of a locally built, custom Ave Maldea frame, P4-8k dependding on the tubeset.

Wow! those bikes are sweeeet and worth dreaming of... OK guys, I'll be honest....I'm actually in the market of getting my very first roadbike and those things you mentioned are a bit too much for a newbie. I actually had a very good deal for a 04 TCR but unfortunately it was 55.5cm which is too big for me... The thing is, I saw a steel Lemond Sarthe on one of our LBS and it was kind of love at first sight. it has a 10S Ultegra double groupo, and the rest of the components are all Bontrager for the price of around 80k for the complete bike. I'm also interested on Ave Maldea's frame but how long does it take to order? What tubeset materials he use/has? Or anybody had a picture of one of his art? Oh yeah, I love riding steel...alloy and carbon are just not in my list right now...opps, unless it's a very good deal...hehehe... ;D Thanks

Ave's frame takes around a month. he usually uses basic Tange tubes. the higher end Tange tubing can cost 2x more but still worth it of you ask me. it'll be maybe P8-10k for a custiom frame + fork (unpainted).
i like Lemond bikes too, but that's pretty expensive for a 105 bike! the whole gruppo is only +P20k i think. what were the components on it? wheelset?

It has a 10 Speed ultegra with Bontrager external BB, a Bontrager Race Wheelset, and other Bonties from seatpost, stem, handlebar, saddle...etc...

i think ultegra's in the P30k range, although there's one being sold in another egroup now for P26k.

OnebyOne - i'm a bit outdated with my parts but I'm certain that there's roadie advice to be better off with 105's than ultegras. at the lower end, soras are better than tiagras. best be scouring roadbikereview.com and other forms out there for info. of course going DA (dura ace) will save you a whole lot of bandwidth time but will definitely break the bank. king - how come no Italians in your list? Rivendell is another respected American custom fitter.

Thanks Fattire for the advice I'm just trying to figure out whether a 78k price tag for a complete Lemond Sarthe (steel) with Ultegra and other Bonty components are reasonable price... Otherwise, I'll go with a Giant TCR with 105 compos to save myself a few $$$ I was supposed to get a 04 TCR for 7,800php (1200hkd) only but unfortunately it was size 55cm which was too big for me... Thanks
