Armstrong had the dedication. i beg to disagree sir. do you mean to say the other riders are not dedicated? merckx is really the man! bike racing was purely racing then. no carbon fibers. no energy drinks and most of all no drugs

here's my question: if someone bags the vuelta, the giro and the tour in one year, would that be enough to match, even exceed LA's 7 wins?

I anybody wins this all, in one season. He's not human..... No, I mean...Armstrong is the only one who trains TdF right after he wins TdF. His dedication to TdF is impeccable. Nobody else do this, others trains for other races also. Armstrong is another class a TdF specialist. That is why he can't be the greatest cyclist. IMO Merckx is the greatest...second is Miguel Indurain. I think Indurain also tried the 1 hour record...
