dasaint: picked it off from an other egroup, i hope it's just a bad joke allegra: phil liggett was still there alright, watched a short recap of stage 1 to 9, today, 7:30PM sportsplus, it ended with Paul Sherwen and Phil Liggett, against a very beautiful ocean and mountain backdrop (are they back in france?) giving final words to their presentation. i've just started watching the TdF on tv last year, but as a long time rider buddy of mine would tell me, phil ligget is the voice of the TdF for as long as he can remember. listening to ligget's/sherwen's commentaries, i've become to appreciate the TdF even more because of the information they throw in regarding the tour and cycling in general. stormloader: it was shocking to learn what rasmussen had to say where he came from (mtb), means a lot because he is very much regarded. ...kinda reminds me when shawn palmer left mtb altogether and went back to snowboarding. NOBODY REALLY CARED!

WOW what a stage I watched the TVE5 broadcast(1230AM) of the stage wow ulit. Lance showed the reason he is called the Tourminator. He only placed second in the stage but He dropped Iban Mayo,Vino , Jan Ulirch after his Discovery bodyguards lead by the his favorite mountain goat Avezando and Hincapie leaded the pace. Lance simple set the pace that broke both T-mobile and CSC. If nothing misfortunate happens Lance is going out the Tour with the yellow jersey Allez Allez Lance

i watched it as well in TV 5 Asie, man i'm losing proper sleep over this...
don't understand a thing they say 'cept when you hear the names like floyd lan DIS (instead of LAN dis), so sorry, off topic
can't help noticing the agony written all over Jan Ullrich's face battling his way miserably up to courchevel. Big Jan Ullrich was in total pain.
the phrase "give me some sugar" meant all its literal message seeing how Voigt moved turtle-like (suggested by jr, hehehe) struggling terribly to put one crank after the other to bring him to the finish.

the amazing thing is, he made his debut in road racing only three years ago! That only means he turned pro roadie three years ago. As a pro XC racer, he probably already did most of his training on the road.

Hey, A mountain biker is leading the king of the mountains err... I think Yup. Micheal (or Mikael) Rasmussen, 1999 World Mt.bike champ, formerly of Gary Fisher-Saab. Makes you a bit proud eh? But in the interviews i've read about 'em I think he gave little credit to his fattire experiences and glory, saying mt.biking has no real direction right now and will not get huge (except for the masses) or something like that. he doubts too if he'll ever compete in a dirt race again for road racing is where it's at, adding that it's "the F1 of the cycling world." being a 'pure climber' has really paid off for him and now he's living his childhood dream. he's no.4 right now and is aiming for bigger things Correct!!!! To all Pinoymtbiker try to crosstrain on road bike,it will help you to improve cadence and pedal power.Go Lance!!!!!

Today T mobile attack Lance with there 3 best riders... they successful before the last few kilometers, but again Lance drop them and came up big...I dont know what they are going to do next..they must have better plan cause tomorrow is the last and hardest climb... I think T mobile were disappointed today... Looks like 3 of those riders is equivalent of lance power. ;D ;D

Is is shameful to win the TDF without winning any stage?
I think there are past overall winners without any stage wins.
I think there are also overall winners who wore the yellow jersey from the second day to the last (but I think that was decades ago).

I am staying up late again tonight. Dasaint brad.. its worth watching that stage..another one of the most exciting stage.. Todays stage T mobile are done....I think they tried everything to detrone Lance but unable to do it.. not only that Ullrich cant even stay with the pace with Lance and Basso. The only change is lance has a bad spell... i hope not. Is is shameful to win the TDF without winning any stage? I think there are past overall winners without any stage wins. I think there are also overall winners who wore the yellow jersey from the second day to the last (but I think that was decades ago). Remember the tour is not about stage winner is about the strongest and best time to finish... also the tour is not over yet... probably the last time trial could be his change to win for stage. Today stage is good for Hincapie first time he won that grueling climb

I think there are also overall winners who wore the yellow jersey from the second day to the last (but I think that was decades ago). i read once that there are i think 2 riders who won in GC but did not win a stage. but they were labeled as minor winners. according to the article, no self respecting GC winner will not win even just 1 stage.

actually there was a comment on using solid disc rear wheels on the ITT, according to the announcer it would be difficult to make turns. although i think Basso is also using disc wheels but he's not nervous like Rasmussen.
