You spend the bulk on the wheelset and the frame. weight saved on any rotating part on the bike is twice savings on a static part.other componets you can upgrade easily piece by piece my 2 cents.

Hello mga sir, tanung ko lang what component should I spend the most on a roadbike? yung dapat dehins ko tinitipid..am planning on building a low budget roadie many thanks. Agree w/ dasaint. I would spend most of my money on the frame/fork just to make sure it fits, and wheels because they have a big impact on performance. I am selling some road/tri bike parts: 105 brakes, Ultegra/600 derailleurs and crankset, etc. Everything is in good condition, and some of them are practically unused. PM me if you want a full list.

I scouted around cartimar and quiapo over the weekend. quiapo seems to offer the lowest prices. is it okay to buy items from there? I really am clueless when it comes to roadbikes...just starting up. naiingit lang ata ako nung napasyal kami sa Amari nung weekend with other pinoyMTB bikers...hehe I've never seen so much bikers in my life kala ko madami na sa PICC...I really hope they dont shoo the bikers away when SM goes full blast. -one more thing- I have an MTB na po pero I see it as fun ride. The road bikes I see as serious exercise..pampapayat tama ba?

-one more thing- I have an MTB na po pero I see it as fun ride. The road bikes I see as serious exercise..pampapayat tama ba? I have a lot of fun on my road bike! It's a blast to barrel down hills at 50-60kph or more, or even just 30kph on an open road. I think mas maraming payat na road bikers because they're used to pedalling continuously for long distances. It's not unusual for the roadies to ride 100+km on weekends, plus 4 or 5 2-hour rides during the week before work. That's a lot of aerobic exercise. BY comparison most MTBers only get to ride on weekends. Pero meron din matabang road bikers, like Eddy Mercxx after retirement. I bet he could still kick ass on a club ride, though.
