Ang distance one way is around 7kms, around pedro gil to makati ave po ang commute. So far ang cinoconsider ko ay yung Trinx Climber 1.0 na CX bike, should I go for full road po ba? Ano po bang marerecommend niyo? Also may alam ba kayong bike shop na nagbebenta ng trinx roads and cx din para makapagcompare ng price. Thanks in advance.

i'm biased towards comfort kaya i can't push you towards roadies. if you're plainly using the bike to commute, get a used MTB instead. Kahit 8spd. Basta used at dehins mamahalin.

I agree with simplej0ys . We are pinoymtbikers here. I'd go MTB hardtail with decent front suspensions. Of course, depende pa rin sa road conditions and safety ng area mo. For some reason I think mas mainit sa mata ang roadie type of bikes sa masasamang loob.

commuting? here's my take having a life of a bike commuter, get the comfortable and cheapest yet sturdy bike you can get, then convert it to a hybrid.
sample, get a used or cheap mtb, why? para dehins takaw nakaw, since bike commute naman, parts won't easily break down unless bilad sa elements yung bike.
convert to a hybrid, either convert the wheels to 700c or just change the tires to slick or semi slick. make sure you have suspension though, ang kalsada ng pinas eh parang offroad.

Mga alivio po shifter neto? Medyo wala po akong alam sa mtb, would an 8 speed be required po if mostly flats ang route, e.g. Pedro gil - kalayaan - ayala ave - makati ave. Based po sa exp how long po kaya ang average time for a 7km?

Kaya i was thinking of cx para drop bars, ang ganda kasi tignan but at the expense of suspensions. Pag trinx po ba ang brand tapos cx, would it be sufficient or should i really get an mtb instead??

How about if mostly flat po ang route, what specs do you recommend? Yung cx bike po is around 12k cheapest one I saw. With disc brakes, pero di ko naconsider mag mtb instead with 700c didn't know pwede yun. I had the impression po kasi na pag mtb mabagal saka mabigat but i don't know the first thing abt mtb. Pwede po ba kayo magbigay ng recommendations sa specs kung built bike in 10k or less. Thanks ulit sir anthrax.

ang gamit ko dati basta hardtail, in your case kahit nga single speed pwede eh. dehins kailangan ng maraming gears kasi dehins mo rin magagamit lahat yan.
btw, we can't say kung gano katagal ang route mo. it will depend on you and the traffic conditions. kung mag bike commute ka pala, mag practice ka muna ng weekend. baka mabigla ka kapag weekday mo agad pinuntahan.
compared to rb, oo mas mabigat at mas mabagal ang mtb. pero a few tweaks will make it lighter and faster. besides, dehins ka naman basta makakatakbo ng 40-50 kph sa kalsada eh, makakabangga ka.
regarding any recommended brand...wala akong masabi, haven't gone to shope recently. Pero kung ako sa 'yo, bike fit ka muna, then go around and look for bikes na sukat sa 'yo. tapos tsaka ka mag-compare.

If your route is mostly flat, any bike will do. Since I live in davao which is (not 100% safe but still) pretty safe most of the time, I can get away with a decent front suspension on a hardtail. But I wouldn't go all out deore on the components. I also am building a beater/commuter bike right now and I'm actually considering single speed para less gastos. By the way, is this going to be your first bike?

Ano kaya likely size neto for MTB and for Road/CX?

Well if nagtitipid, no sense in buying or building 2 bikes. If you think your route and workplace is safe enough then by all means go for what you want. Before you start, convinced ka ba na kaya mo? Since you are asking this question, I can only assume na baguhan ka pa. Baka kelangan mag practice ka muna on weekends or anytime na dehins rush hour. dehins biro ang bike commuting. Anyway, safe ride boss.
