sige, ano ang naiisip mong issue sa shifting?
the main difference between shimano and sram is the actuation ratio of the shifter and RD. 2:1 ang shimano, 1:1 ang sram.

Yes po shifting.. kasi ang plan ko po is mag 1x11 or 1x10 na hybrid. Ill be using cassette na 10-42 na sram. Then the rest is xt groupset crank rd and brakeset. So thats just fine? It would be helpful sir mga sasagot.

that should be fine. just don't mix the RD and shifter between manufacturers. and don't use a different chain speed than the one you'll be using.

Yes that should work, as long as your RD and shifter are of the same brand.

without the consideration of the bottom bracket standards and the shimano and xd driver, the only thing that requires compatibility in the drivetrain are the shift levers and the derailleurs. other than that you can mix/match components.
to the TS, can you post the specific models that you are targeting for build so it will be clearer for everyone?

AFAIK, wala pang nagpapalit ng width cassette carrier (tama ba ang term?). i could be mistaken though, but you can pretty much put an 11 speed cassette on any hub.

"cassette carrier" is also known as a spider. but i think you were talking about the freehub body. speaking of which is wider on 11spd coz the 11spd cassette stack is taller than 8/9/10spd you may be able to mount 11spd cassette on 10spd hub but you won't get optimal thread engagement with the lockring which is supposed to be torqued to 40nm i think. yes i use a big torque wrench for the car for this hehe

18650, ayun!!! freehub body, he he he. anyway it begs the question, if going 11-speed, would it be best to get new hubs?

sus! kala ko spider ang tawag kung san naka-bolt ang chainring. wenyway... ang pagkakaalam ko, ang SRAM 10-42 11spd cassette will need an XD driver (freehub body). hindee sya compatible sa standard shimano freehub. i'll know for sure when the new stuff gets delivered. hopefully this week!
