at tame ka, based on budget, you'll get an entry level bike.

err....walang panukat? kahit meter stick? metro? medida?
dehins kasi excuse yung walang panukat, kasi ikaw ang kawawa in the end. too big a frame, stretched out ka at sasakit ang likod at batok mo. too small a frame, cramped ang cockpit, tatama ang handlebar sa tuhod mo. too big or too small, dehins ka nakasentro sa frame kapag sinubukan mong i-adjust using a longer/shorter stem or longer/seatback seatpost.

Get the basics first, get your measurements Go to your local tailoring shop or buy a measuring tape at National Bookstore, look at the website and record the different parts (may diagram naman doon). After you have determined the size appropriate for you then you should start considering the bike you want

One of the reason that we bike is having fun. If not THE basic reason. Now if kumuha ka ng bike na dehins (palitan kaya ng h.indi?) sukat sa iyo, malamang dehins ka mag enjoy. You might not have fun riding. And in the end, mababawasan kami ng isang potential mountain biker in you. Sukatin mo inseam mo para may mailagay ka na sukat dun sa bike fit.
Good luck pare at sana matagpuan mo ang hinahanap hanap mong sarap sa pagbibisikleta! hehehe...
Nasa sarap yan eh. hahaha!

example yung ETTL na binigay nung site for me is 22.3 - 22.7 inches, nag ikot na ako sa ilang shops and karamihan ng frames nila ay may ETTL na either 21, 22 inches or mas malaki pa, so ano yung ok na piliin ko should i go for the 22 or hanap talaga ako ng frame with an ETTL na pasok dun sa measurements na bigay ng site?
thanks!

Mas maganda kung pasok sa binigay na sukat sa 'yo from competitivecyclist. or at least have it nearest to the measurements, yun nga lang kailangan ka mag-compensate somewhere. kunwari sa 22", konti lang ang 0.3 of an inch. check mo yung ibang measurements kung saan ka pwedeng mag-compensate, setback seatpost ba? longer stem ba? pero at least dehins ka malayo recommended sizing based on your body measurements.

thanks for the advice sir anthrax76!
I've been lurking the forum for a while now and just decided to create the account recently. I've read in one thread where you suggested to go for local brands. I'm a "go local" guy myself, but I can't choose between Vision and MOB.
I'm planning on building an XC bike and will be used 60/40 pavement/trails.
which brand can you suggest?
thanks again!

aaah eeeh, ha ha ha. haven't tried Vision, although i really wanted to. I've had my MOB since 2008 and it still won't break. granted that i don't ride much, i probably only have about 5,000 kms on that frame, it probably has a lot of punishment received from too many jumps, drops and stairs that i've ridden.

vision pursuit 2011 second owner here... the previous owner of the frame used to ride mostly on trail. 5+ year old frame, so far okay naman.

I've been looking at the pursuit myself from sir stan ng stan13 bikes, although the effective top tube length is an inch shorter than recommended by competitivecyclist, that's why im still looking. you mentioned you're the 2nd owner, where'd you get the frame sir, if you dont mind me asking?

wala namang bias, kaso nung kailangan ko biglang magpalit ng frame (nabasag ko yung frame ko noon), limited ang budget. sinamahan ako ng kaibigan ko sa shop ng MOB sa sampaloc, eh sakto sa budget. wala pang 3K may kasama nang headset (loose ball), seatpost at seatclamp. may iba pang freebies pero dahil yata store opening noon, he he. nung nagpakabit ako ng sealed bearing headset sa quiapo, nalaman ko na 3500 yata ang running rate ng Vision. konti na lang sana dagdag ko, pero nakabili na ako ng frame so okey lang. happy naman ako kasi that time laganap ang Vision frames, eh ang taste medyo gusto ko kakaiba ako, ha ha ha. considering the paint job of the MOB frames and other frames of that time medyo kakaiba siya, here's a pic.

weeel - got it from my workmate who shifted to 29er. i think he got it from one of the shops in quiapo long time ago. yup, stan have the vision pursuit 2016 frames the last time i've been to their shop. i like the matte black color, hehe! anthrax76 - pareho pala tayo na gusto yung kakaiba. it's another reason why i settled for an old frame, mas maliit na yung chances na meron kang kapareho, hehehe! but even on cars, i still find the fully restored (and with a little mods) 90's model attractive than the new ones.

xmayor, he he he yeah, tsaka madali rin makilala for meetups. Sayang wala na yung dream frame ko never really had it hanggang nagsara na yung company. nakakatuwa nga yung biro ng Manila Riders sa frame ko, kasi simula nung nag-sessions ako, yan na lagi ang gamit ko. dapat daw "anthrax" edition na yan, he he he. sa totoo lang, para 2 or 3 pa lang ang nakita kong kapareho ko ng frame, and to think it's dirt cheap and locally owned company. while other riders are spending a whole lot on bootleg frames.
