unsolicited advice. don't upgrade for the sake of upgrading, it is a very expensive route.
if there's something wrong or broken, replace the part with a higher end piece. now that is a good upgrade. the only way to know if something needs replacement is to actually ride your bike. there are quite a number of mid to high end shops in makati along pasong tamo ext. but if you're hunting bargain parts, cartimar is the best place to go.

alam niyo po tama kayo sir, kagabi lang bumili ako ng fork sa OLX. ng di man lang nacheck kung kasya sa frame ng mtb ko. take note yung MTB ko kasi bigay pa yun ng lolo ko at bakal pa yung frame. sa kagustuhan ko iupgrade lang ng dahil sa gusto ko lang nakagastos na ko ng mahigit 4k ng parang wla naman nangyayare, i know maliit lang ang 4k compared to the parts of your bikes mga sir but still sayang lang yung ginawa ko haha. sana nakabasa pa ako dito ng mas maaga sa mga pro. keep up the good work mga sir. im happy to be part of this group. newbie here from q.c. PS kanina along my way nasira ko yung crank ng bike ko and for the first time i made the right upgrade for my bike like what sir anthrax said. ride ur bike first than along the way palitan mo yung need palitan salamat ng marami!

Can you suggest a bike shop in makati where i can buy parts/accesories for my bike? thanks if i may, you just recently bought your bike and now you want to upgrade/modify it. why didn't you just get the bike with the parts that you wanted? the way i see it, you seem to have a budget given that you wanted to upgrade a recently bought bike right away. "i'm not sure what the circumstances are," but given this, you took a more expensive route instead of getting a built bike with the components that you wanted. in any case, if you really want to spend, instead of replacing parts of your bike, just sell it as a whole and get a new one instead - this time with the parts/components that you want. in this way, you might get a bigger return instead of dismantling smaller components and reselling.

For me, I'll look for a larger tire size. And before you make your next purchase, research about it first. Spend some time browsing the web

I actually did my brother a favor... he needed to sell his old buy so his wife will allow him to buy a new one. so bought his old bike. LOL! and i bought it at a bargain. so i guess i can upgrade the bike a little using the money i saved...
i just purchased a pair of maxxis aggressoe 29"x 2.3". the ride feels a lot different compared to stock 2.0 tires.
