thanks for the replies folks. and i thought i was done with building the true bike i dream of, hehehe ;D. here comes something affordable. this rig is trail ready. how come its affordable. im saying that becoz it has a fox rear and front rearshock. even the entry levels arent that affordable. giant is definitely taking things one step higher.

Jon,
You should look at the new Reign. It now weighs only 28 pounds for a 6" bike.... and it's about 170K for the full-on model with SRAM XO parts...
Now you're confused, right?

i guess the 80k is for the TranceX2 not TranceX0. Fox suspension front and rear but no lockout and propedal. also, the rest of the components pale in comparison with that of TranceX0, right dv1kwh? i think i saw your X0 on display at Extreme before you took her home. nice one. as in very nice.

brusko, nyahahaha, i got messed up with the price. sounds like a good deal kaya i messed up with what to say, hehe. ;D radical, a 28 lb AM is awesome. my reign weighs 34 lbs. i better do something, there must be something wrong. i hope i dont end up buying a new whole bike though. raul, wish i could sell bruski my bike but im still enjoying it. and besides, im more keen on getting a trail bike coz in my opinion, the future of mountain bikes are trail bikes like the trance. not unless they can make XC forks with thru-axles, that's altogether a different story, hehehe ;D.

Jon,
I understand the confusion ...
Just looking at the 2008 TranceXO and the Reign is starting to cloud my mind ... and I already have a 2005 Trance 2 that I very happy with. I just saw a TranceXO at Extreme and weighted it at 28lbs fully loaded!!! It would have been lighter if the owner did not "upgrade" to beefier thomson stem and seatpost.
I just have to say to myself that I don't need complications ... but nakakagigil talaga!!!

I just have to say to myself that I don't need complications ... but nakakagigil talaga!!! hmmm......i sold my shawn h2 with 4.5 inches of travel. i rode it so hard the shock gave in. it lost its rebound. the problem might be the eye to eye of the shock. its only 6.5. the old trance has only 6.5 also but the new one has 7.5 for sure and the reign has 7.875. a longer eye to eye for me means a longer stroke (though i dont measure the stroke any more kasi it doesnt make sense to make a longer shock if the stroke is not long as well). the shock was not able to handle the stress siguro. so i think i need more than that. so i got myself something else. its not a trance though. lets wait and see. i now have more travel (5") but pedalling dynamics is another thing which only a maestro, VPP, or DW can provide and make life better.

Re: Reigns... I am sorry but how true: '08's are lighter than older models by about 1.5lbs. I can't seem to remember where I have read it in MTBR.

so what exactly is a light AM ride? will that include the MOJO SL WTF Build at 21.9lbs? I say lose some more by using: - KMC Chain (50g less) - 11-32 XTR Cogs (not sure) - Monkeylite SL (50g less) - Non-tubeless specific tires (150g or more) - Alligator iLink housing (30g less) weeeeee.......

But beware of the dark side. Baggy shorts, wearing body armor, Gravity Dropper; the dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quickly switchin' to platform pedals. If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny!
