Hi,
What is included in the 35K group set? How much ba ang 2007 XT? And what is difference with LX? I'm thinking of upgrading to LX or just save for 08 XT?
Thanks Charles

go for the XT brad. just wait for a couple of months and for sure lalabas na yung XT 2008.
besides, LX will be upgraded by next year to the LX 2009. no word so far for the LX 2009 though, hehe.

not bad, but I'd like SHIMANO to produce carbon fiber components, group sets, parts, and wheelsets within the next few years. I'm sure it will give SHIMANO more customers who would otherwise buy other brands.

09 Dura Ace will have carbon bits (and so will XTR I'm sure)...

I dunno about carbon parts. I mean if you can achieve same weights on alloy parts or even within 5-10g difference, i think durability would be better. I've been hearing too many horror stories about the XO carbon RD problems.

SRAM still arguably has some better components compared to pre 07-08 XTR/XT parts. The great thing about Shimano however, is that they listen to the market. This is probably the best feature of the big S.

competition is good. i run a mutt of a drivetrain because not ONE company makes the best of everything... my setup is: XTR hydros X9 shifters X0 RD XT FD Dura-Ace chain with a SRAM master link XTR cassette XTR crankset.
If Shimano made a 1:1 drivetrain, then things maybe different...

Hi,
My current setup is deore 8 speed shifter/brake lever in one, and mechanical disc brake. If I want this to upgrade to 9 speed and retain the brake, and not getting dual shifter, I'll just get the XT shifter, xt 9speed cogs, and xt 9 speed chain and a brake caliper fro the break lever? Is this right?
Regards, Charles

I think that deore 8speed brake lever+shifter is 9 speed compatible as well, but for your comfort get a Brake lever and a 9speed shifter and or a dual control lever. feel free to ask question. Hope this may help.

bought the XT 08 2 way shifter last friday sam's ROSS bike shop cheap than others hehheheh, discounted? ...P2.25K
Only used the right hand one for my dh bike, 9 speed
Removed the OGD OPTICAL GEAR DISPLAY, unscrew the two bolts.
Placed the COVER (this one is nice, tucked neatly behind the OGD) with one screw.
Adjusted the two allen bolt of the clamp, so it can be mounted outside brake lever clamp.
Between the brake lever clamp and your right grip.
NICE fo DH because you can now position your brake levers where you reach with only your index finger. (one finger braking).
and the shifter clamp outside is now closer for your thumb to reach.
You grip the handle bars and when you SHIFT you use only your right thumb to shift up or shift down. 2 way shift feature (push push).
No more extra hand movement just to shift. unlike the old inboard clamp shifters.

There's an incomplete XT 08 gruppo on display in Newton's Bikeshop. But the salesgirls there wouldn't state a price yet.
