gulli and radical, almost all the serious MT. bikers i've bumped into say that clipless is the only way to go...and somebody said that even the philippine pro downhill team are using clipless din (correct me if i'm wrong)...guess I have to muster enough of guts to go wear em -convince me more- hehe - i need a little push

And dont be afraid of spill with your cleats engage. In my experience, upon semplang natatanggal sya automatically hehehehe
plus with cleats you dont grind the pedal you learn to spin the sonnbabitch kaya power saving!
Plus in time nagiging reflexes na ang pag disengage.
First trail ko is first time cleat use pero naging oks naman ang day.

brad, i doubt if you could find this in department stores. try Paulina's at Cartimar. they carry the Exustar brand. reasonably priced i.e. mostly in the 2k range. (the cheapest one i think is around 1.5k) good luck.

i've got these vans mental but haven't used them on mountain biking because my pedals aren't SPD. what pedals are compatible with these shoes? do you have any reviews for vans mental? thanks!
