Hey guys what do you think of those designs innovation technology that never really worked? Yung tipong Pautot lang ng mga manufacturer para kumita?
I think shimano's biopace is one of them, So called eliminating dead spot. Use to have it on my Shimano 100GS gruppo
Hollw tech i believe is one of them although havent own one.

I'll play...
- BMX "mag" wheels (heavy, terrible braking, and I shattered 2 sets) - cantil brakes installed under the chainstay instead of seatstay - electronic shifting and automatic shifting - Polar's heart rate monitor that interfaces to cellphone - titanium bolts (save less than 1g per bolt!) - carbon fiber headset spacers (ok I actually bought some) - "cycling socks"

As far I can remember there were the ff: 1. Forks with size 1.25 " steerer tube called EVOLUTION originated by GARY FISHER which was phased out eventually. 2. Suspension stem made by GIRVIN called FLEXTEM. Another is FRAKENSTEM made initially by ALLSOP SOFTRIDE & eventually by CONTROLTECH
3. Helmets with REEBOK PUMP inner paddings. BELL made two models RAZOR and AVALANCHE

HARD TAIL FRAME designs that never made it: 1. A-FRAME design by IRON HORSE. Design claims stiffer rear triangle compared to standard diamond frames 2. ELEVATED CHAINSTAY (HARDTAIL) design by ALPINESTARS and NISHIKI. Design claims that bike climbs better compared to standard hardtail . Although at present some manufacturers still use the technology for their fullsuspension line (ie. SANTA CRUZ SUPERLIGHT & BULLIT, CANNONDALE GEMINI)
*IRON HORSE, ALPINESTARS AND NISHIKI eventually retained the standard diamond frame.I'm not sure if ALPINE STARS and NISHIKI is still active

I remember a couple
1. i'm not sure what it was called - diskwheel? it was suppose to improve the aerodynamics of a mountain bike...he he! yes, a mountain bike. inabutan ko ito pahanon ito ng neon color paint schemes for bikes and jerseys, bar ends and of course bar end shifters (medyo late pa nga ito)
2. the most recent i believe is the shimano airlines grouppo for downhillers. peumatic/air-powered shifting maganda raw ito pero ano kaya nangyari?....dehins kasi ako downhiller.

I remember also the one made by TIOGA the "DISC DRIVE" which never really clicked. I think the AIRLINE is still available but wala lang nga marketing hype

[how about the two-wheel drives? are they still around?[/quote] although AWD bikes been around for quite a long time now, i believe the technology is still in its infancy but little by little they are making some progress. Christini for example has made quite a good AWD. i dont think it should be long now..not yet working properly but it will work..someday you'll see.
