Guys seems we will be seeing this new Shimano line for trail riding by end of this year, I like their sharp look, reminds me of the Stealth Fighterplanes ;D..said they will be priced like LX/XT too HoneFirst there was Saint, now there's Hone. Shimano's engineers have been working overtime to fill every component niche out there, and Hone is the latest result. Says Chris Distefano of Shimano, "The expected user for Hone is in the Enduro/All-Mountain category which is a step midway between true cross-country and full-blown freeriding. They'll be on suspension bikes with 5-6 inches of travel and will do all the pedaling. They'll do small drops and jumps but not the big freeride park hits." This is breaking news, folks, as most people are seeing it for the first time at the Taipei bike show this week. Shimano is still a long way from delivering Hone to manufacturers, however, so if the product sounds like a perfect fit for you, you'll just have to wait it out. "The decisions on what to spec and how to spec are yet to be made. It's like a new song you hear for the first time. It takes a few times to really get into it and that's what product managers have to do. As we do more presentations and hear more feedback, we'll know more and I can pass that along but for now, there isn't a resource available for buyers," says Distefano. The Hone line will be priced in between the LX and XT lines.

Will post it here once I got hold of it.

I seen all the shimano product line two weeks ago when I went to the L. A bike tour. The product line was a beauty and looks ...separated from downhill down to regular urban riding. You are right the mass production is going to be the end of this year.

Accordingly this groupo is intended for riders "honing" their skills (so later they can upgrade to the saint group ) So i guess it's hone, not "ho-ne" but i suppose the Japs can pronounce it that way hehe ;D Kelan kaya dating nito? Ang impressive daw dito is the derailleur kasi parang junior saint

I don't think so Max kasi may silbi pa rin naman yung mga yun eh di ba? Especially XT and XTRs for XC competitors and pro racers. But it's about time na gumawa na uli ang Shimano for "all-mountain(kuno)" category. Although for all we know marketing ploy lang naman yan ;D

Pero sa tutoo lang, mas maganda ang metal materials ng mga lumang piyesa kaysa sa bago, mas firmer ang metal content ng old parts. Magaan lamang ang bago at Hi-Tech designs.

Remember the old shimano models STX or STX RC, ang metal content daw niyan ay kapareho ng latest Shimano Deore Groups or much tougher!

I'll add to that another discontinued group: DEORE DX Back then it was considered higher than LX but lower than XT. SHIMANO revived DX again but only on their platform pedals.

Berns, try asking sa mga suki mong bikeshop, I heard from the grapevine meron na daw LX 2005, so I guess meron na rin Hone since they share same basic parts.
