I put the RR on my SS and it instantly became my new favorite SS tire (at least for the short travel SS)... Previous tires I've recently tried on the light SS were: 2.0 Python Airlight 470 grams 2.0 Kenda Blue Groove (Stick-E) 460 grams 2.1 Kenda Nevegal DTC 670 grams 2.1 Maxxis Ignitor 570 grams 2.4 Schwalbe Racing Ralph 570 grams 2.4 WTB Mutanoraptor 600 grams The Schwalbe had the most volume (although the 2.1 Kenda had a wider tread) and rolled equally as well as the Pythons and Ignitors. The Nevegal 2.1 was just too heavy. The volume added that extra bit of cush that allowed me run slightly lower pressures than normal. Although it's perfect for the SS, the Racing Ralph won't do for AM-ish kind of riding... The sidewalls are not thick enough and the knobs are not rigid enough for aggressive cornering on rocks (but it does surprisingly well on loose over hardpack)... I would say that the Racing Ralph was easily as good as the Mutanos...

juvebiker41It's a valid review since there was an actual use of the brand variant. Wrong thread nga lang. In the absence of form guidelines on what a proper evaluation should be like, this would suffice. It's not a contest on who can give the best review.

Please ask the moderators to revise the guidelines for product review, otherwise no one will revise their reviews. Perhaps you can ask for more details nicely also? I'm so sure they will accommodate considering that two of those who posted have a wealth of ACTUAL experience with the brand. I think you can even ask djpapi to request Jeff Odviar to post his reviews here...anything is possible if done the right way. Jan Atienza po returning to regular programming.

To juvebiker41... First and foremost, I have been using Schwalbe tires on my bikes since 2006. I have used Kenda, Specialized, Nokian, WTB before and I personally love Schwalbe. I first learned about them & tried them at the Interbike, Vegas in 2006 Dirt Demo. I like them and I find them very grippy, sturdy and have a fantastic feel to riding them in all conditions.... a new brand to me - AND If you want a "con" - THEY ARE FREAKING EXPENSIVE !!!! AND, THIS IS NOT A MARKETING "BLAH-BLAH" AS YOU STATE IN YOUR POST... I DON'T SELL THIS BRAND... I ride them... ;D ;D ;D I sponsor Jeff Odviar, who rides my Turner bikes in the Philippines for races. It so happens that the tires on my bikes are Schwalbes... AND HE LOVES THE WAY THEY PERFORM!!! AND GUESS WHAT, he won on them...That alone makes me happy because, THESE ARE MY CHOICE OF TIRES... and the fact that he loves the way they grip, ride, feel, is alone a testament for me that they are great tires... that I did not chose wrong...they also last a long time... they do not wear off that easily... put it this way, I would rather believe a seasoned Phil team pro racer than anyone else. If Jeff told me that they are slippery, or at all, not a good tire, then I would change them myself... and ask him his preferred choice of brand. Kaso, he likes them - what can I do. I am building a DH bike right now and to my dismay, I cannot find DH specific Schwalbe's here in Manila. This led me to further research... & I decided... I am gonna use Syncros BHT DH Tires c/o Hans Gee. Just to try these... I read they are GREAT tires as well. We shall see... in the end, its all boils down to your personal choice. Schwalbe is EXPENSIVE - YES!!! They are not for everybody. Why they are expensive is beyond me... now, I'm not telling you to buy them... nor did I mention this before. I simply stated that I HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE THE BEST TIRES OUT THERE... PERIOD!!! That is my sole opinion. I also learned that 3T Company is the one that is going to import these wonderful brand into our market. I could be wrong & I do not know the people behind 3T but I have nothing else to do but support 3T with Schwalbe wholeheartedly. They are my tire of choice right now. How I wish I could get my hands on a pair of Schwalbe Muddy Mary DH tires right now but I guess I will have to wait till these models get here... till then... Nuf said, enjoy & just ride... ;D
