I spent almost all day at the shop today trying to decide what hardtail to get to use for this year's La Ruta. It was between these three. I almost got the Taurine because I just think the carbon Lefty looks pretty cool ;D. I love Specialized bikes but I sort of want another brand since I already have the '07 S-Works carbon Epic. So it was really between the Cannondale and the Orbea Alma. I went to Orbea's website and built up the bike with Sram XO, Mavic Xmax, RS Sid, etc. and it's comparable to the other two in weight, 20.96 lbs to be exact and this is the deal maker, it's about $1000 cheaper ;D. My friends at the shop is going to call Orbea on Monday to finalize the build and I should have the bike within a week and a half or so. Do you guys think I made the right choice? Hey, it's the same frame Julien Absalon rides. If it's good enough for Julien, it must be more than good enough for a mere mortal like me. ;D I'll post the pics as soon as I get it. Thanks guys.

you already got an S,don't go for crackn'dale +1 on the orbea there's a reason that cannondale got that reputation... back in the day, we called them "crack-n-fails"... not sure if they've turned the boat around...

I dont know how cannondales ride but I ve ridden an S Epic and the Scalpel copy (OZ sumthin) by Orbea I liked the Epic ... I didnt like the price heheh I liked the Orbea...and yes the prices for those were friendlier An HT Orbea that weighs uberlight should be an awesome build...and a race contender more money for the fork, wset and drivetrain

Here's the bike and the build. For some reason they don't offer the Mavic Xmax SLRs, but my shop will contact Orbea about that. And the only reason it's a true SRAM bike is because they don't have Fox fork options anymore either. But anyway, this is the bike: www.orbea-usa.com/mto3/fly.aspx?layout=overview

good choice on the Orbea brad. for some reason, i never really liked Cannondale because sometimes they keep making things that off the standard measurements and then you'd be stuck with adapters or CODA
