The original GT Avalanche has an engraved tagged MADE IN USA, but I think this is an old issu of frames from GT, a fellow MTBiker here in Biñan ( Mang Ed ) has it, the quality is very far from the new GT Avalanche on the LBS today. ( I think wala ng ganitong frame as of 2008 )

mythbuster: thanx for the info," thus gt has their frame made nah in taiwan, cuase alam muna- cheap labor to locate their factory or do they had a sub-contractor to build their bikes? i know it was made in taiwan, but still it's imported to us. it's was indeed similar to books during the late 80's the cover is hard cardboard then now a soft paper. in bikes a ingrave made in usa, but now water proof stickers and aluminum inbosed materials. 'id still watch your show at discovery channel, hihihihi! which one is you the balb or the orange guy?

sdnyi found it over the net. i call her tuna craving psycho cat. hehehe! btw yeah carbon spacers are quite expensive. i just use black aluminum spacers, P50 per set (3 pcs) at Paulina's. i compensate for the weight by removing the v-brake bosses of the fork and frame (those things are surprisingly heavy) and plugging them with small rubber boots. you can find those at raon in the stalls selling rubber boots for chairs and tables. i found one that is a perfect fit for the v-brake boss holes. but then again carbon spacers are bling. hehehe! ;D

thanx! i'd also looking for that rubber that some are using it with their vbrake bosses, for atleast you told me that i was a rubber things that i saw along raon selling it in different sizes! 'bout the spacer i need atleast 1inch size/ 2x, since a black aluminum spacers will do, okey for atleast my budget can accomodate it.... thanx again!

Its a hit and miss at first until you get the right stuff you really want. Its like an enrollment fee brad until the upgrade virus kicks in after a few months. ;D

What I like about GT avalanche is that you can set it up to whatever you want, low rides, hi-rides, dirt jump, xc, freeride etc. Nice set up brad!

Questions sirs.
Are all the GT 2.0 frames in the LBS original (manufactured from their Taiwan plant)?
Wala ba local imitation of the GT avalanche frames? How can I tell?
2.5K price range pa rin ba until today yung Taiwan made GT frames?
Thanks, Rod
