If I remember it right, RST Alfalfas have 36mm stanchions. They were quite beefy for forks of their generation. Though a picture can say a thousand words, it would be best to first get the facts on how the arch cracked. You can't make an accurate judgement on the fork's (or any product for that matter)durability without first knowing what really happened. For all we know, the biker-owner of that Alfalfa may have used the fork way beyond its limits. agree with you brad, am using alfalfa ryt now, maybe we should know first the riding of the owner... ;D At best, the picture would serve to show that these things do happen- but that's about it.

im an RST Launch T8 user, so far this fork performs well, its good for all mountain ride, light DH, it can handle some drops & jumps. not good for XC. im using this fork for almost a year now & dont have any plans yet of replacing it, it fits my weight (140) & my ride. my opinion, it all depends on how you used & lands it.

@kaijing: very well said brad, i'd agree that 140lbs of higher like my weight 195lbs can hundle it...but it's not intend for xc/urban riding.....a great respect to this rst launch fork.

The Launch is still too heavy for urban, xc as well. Sorry, it is not for all mountain as what kajing stated. All mountain forks are light weight. As what i know the launch is stiff and really, really, really heavy. Drops or freeride are not for stiff forks like the launch. Drops and freeride are for soft and well absorbing forks. These does not depend on how you land it. It all depend on the ability on how the fork aborbs the landing. So stiff... and the rebound (how the fork goes back up after absorbing a bump) is bad also for drops and jumps. I know some forks that dont have a rebound adjust like the sr suntour xcr, the rebound is fine. Just my experience bros.. I use to own a rst launch.
Its terrible, rst as usual is now being compared to low end forks like zoom forks and gts forks while sr suntour is now being compared with some mid to high end forks. It is being compared not just in our country but in some other countries. Rst better do something about it hehehe...

i think if these products hit our LBS some people would be singing a different tune about RST forks... www.rstmtb.com/then again that might be a very big IF. trans: sulat tayo sa wish ko lang. ;D ;D ;D two of the forks in this website... www.rstmtb.com/the Storm... and the Titan... are available in Quiapo... Cycle Art and Decimal. the Storm is a heavy mofo with 36mm chromo stanchions and has thru-axle drop-outs sells for P6K and the Titan, a light air fork (the one in Quiapo doesn't have remote lock-out i think) with alum steer and stanchion tubes retails for P5.5-P5.8K. Jojie of Decimal told me that they only have one stock of each since they are still testing the market out for these products.
