I've been reading the thread about this frame.I'm curious what's verdict then( is it worthwhile to buy or not?) coz the comments posted on th the thread were varied.
You know guys like us who are on a tight budget do want to get the opportunity of owning and being able to ride a decent and reliable FS frame which we can use for our riding pleasure.A frame like this a comes along in the market and hey suddenly an opportunity comes to us that the dream could be reality or a nightmare at that.
So please can we get a decent review and comment if the frame is worthwhile to purchase....

i'm supposed to just fork your post sana to the santa cruz replica thread, but anyways just to summarize the review if you feel not doing it: 1. what is your riding disciplne and your intended use for the sinuperlight (as what they call the replica)? 2. how heavy or light do you weight? 3. as what i have read, the sinuperlight has very limited (in terms of durability) vis-a-vis the weight of the rider and its intended use (i.e. light XC riding to agressive XC AM depending on the riders weight) but definitely not for DH, FR or DJ regardless of rider's weight. 4. if my memory still serves me right the sinuperlight have some issues about its pivot ring (ba tawag dun?) or bearing. it tends to break easily, but i remember reading that it can be replaced by a fabricated and more durable one. 5. a lot of replcas already broke down (frame) even on normal use ( post of arelysbykshop, etc. sa thread). which brings us back to the issue of: 1. they are sold cheap because its a cheap copy fo the original and people might want to own it just so that its an SC Superlight (kuno) that they are riding. if its opportunity to buy a cheap FS frame, that's your call. 2. it doesn't even carry any guarantee. 3. i believe you can buy a decent and durable HT frame for the price of it. 4. why not save up some money to buy something for keeps, some reliable, durable and battle tested XC/AM FS frames sells in the neighborhood of 12K+ (pre-owned posted at the B&S section). finally it will all boil down to CAVEAT EMPTOR* * buyer's beware thats my .02 on this.....of course i might be wrong

yeah, i should have reported this thread to be moved or something, but my trigger-happy-reply-fingers was just too fast for my brain.... ;D anyway, i'm with sir arci... for the price you will pay for the santa CREUS sinuperlayt, you can go for a bombproof HT... but as you said, you want to try out a FS... so it's your call...

Take it from one who uses it. I own one and I've used it for XC, agressive XC (mudspring trails), i use it to go to work, I've learned how to bunny hop & drops using that frame... 4 months. its still intact! I even got a friend who uses it for DH at tagaytay b10, ridge 1-3, you name it... (don't ask me how many times, he started biking first before me)... see??? comments/suggestions will always be there, but you'll never know the truth until you've tried it... ;D

I would rather put my life on a branded frame that is actually guaranteed by the manufacturer. If you are looking for a way to experience FS, why not look at the pre-owned market? A good Giant NRS might be available for around 15K. That frame would last you years (I have one since 2002 and I still ride it all the time) and the parts are readily available. And it's a proven design. I have not riden a sinuperlight but by the pics and what I've seen close hand, it's a very crude copy and it seems that the shock is also primitive. If you try the real McCoy, you will surely appreciate the time and effort that went into the design and manufacturing of the bike, it will really give you the pleasure you are looking for.
Besides, everyone knows it's a fake so .... why get it if there are already reports about its unreliable performance. You will actually get what you paid for.
Or like what they said, just get a better hardtail.
Just my 2 cents.

sir, thanks for sharing your experience with the sinuperlight. but just to set the record straight, we are not TELLING TALES. we are expressing comments/opinions as requested by jtbul. telling tales and expressing comments/opinions are two different things. but yes, "you'll never tell the truth until you've tried it", i have to agree on that Take it from one who uses it. I own one and I've used it for XC, agressive XC (mudspring trails), i use it to go to work, I've learned how to bunny hop & drops using that frame... 4 months. its still intact! Bottomline, a fake is a fake. Yes it might look the same, but at the end of the day, who will gurantee it? Heck, let's say you spend 10-20k for this frame, and it breaks. Will you get your money back? You'd actualyl end of spending more in the long run. The fact is, there have been actual reports of this frame breaking at the same location, which indicates an inherent design flaw (see post of arelys). Even if there may be some that may have actually been durable enough, the chances of getting an inferior product is much much higher. In addition, will you actually feel good riding a fake frame? At the end of the day, in this sport, you really have to pay if you want to play. Net, your options are: 1.) go for a very good HT frame 2.) look for second hand frames 3.) save up. if you can save 10k in 6 months, then another 6 months you have 20k. it's just a matter of time. in the meantime, go for option 1. mix this with option 3 and you might get a pretty good deal 4.) there are also good entry level FS frames there, though the shocks will not be Fox, but still good enough

1-2 good reviews . . . vs. 5-10 reviews of frame breakage . . . would you still take the risk?
you're probably better off with a Shawn-H2 or the Haro Shift. Heck, there's a Jamis Sport selling for 15k na lang I think in the B&S.
well, end of the day, it's your choice. Maybe you'll luck out and actually get one that is build solidly.

wow i never thought to get so much replies in such a short time.Makes me think more of this frame...hmmm! You know as long as someone posts a good comment about the frame then it might be worthwhile to look at.Just consider the price of this frame...it's not even half the price of some other taiwan made FS. Just to be objective let's wait for comments from other users as well!

I saw up close this Sta Cruz Quiapo frame, i even saw somebody riding it. Well I think you gonna have to be very strong and daring to damage this frame. But it won't be as smooth and effecient as the real one.

thanks Berns for confirming what exactly I'm thinking about this frame. The looks might be crude but the the performance of the frame might live up to it's inteneded use...which is XC!
I now for a fact that Jane and Cylce Art has sold several dozens of this frame and I would like to encourage all those who has first hand experience to share their evaluation of the product performance.

jtbul: you know what sir, the way i observe your posts vis-a-vis the comments given by P M T B peepz, it seems that you're more or less "decided" on really acquiring that replica. after having discussed this issue of the sta creus sinuperlight in one thread and then on this thread, i believe a decision can already be made by somebody wanting (or not wanting) to buy one. as what pao has posted somewhere and if i may quote: "but you'll never know the truth until you've tried it... " GOOD LUCK AND RIDE SAFE! ;D

i hope you dont get offended but im not sure why you are even considering this frame. i'd still put my money on something i can put my trust on. how much would it cost to get hospitalized if that thing breaks while you're on it? what truth are we looking for on the said frame?fake nga e. its an imitation. not even a close one at that. while "some" users of the said frame are lucky enough (til when? ) not to have any issues. one or two reports of bad experience is enough to convince me to not even consider this as a good option for a fullsusser. (frankly,i never even considered this frame as a "good" option the first time i heard about it) im sure you read about the reports from previous threads. there is something "obvious" about this particular frame. its a waste of money. like what everybody says when one decides to go the FS way: "when going FS, none can be more decent than an original, proven, efficient design. dont go for anything less than that just for the sake of having a FS." and lets all face the fact that a good, decent, proven design FS frame doesnt really come cheap. even second hand ones. save more money and get a decent FS or use it for a nice HT frame and just get a nicer fork instead. now, if ever (i really hope not) you still get the frame. get the rest of the imitation parts to complement it like the thongson seatpost, chris kring headset....... just kiddin

Bad yan brad! ;D... Lets not promote and patronize the use of fake/copy/replca/etc. :Pas much as possible. better yet there are alot of low price fs in the market. some of them are cyclone, montana, etc. ( ::)mall bike:p). at least they are not jafakes. hehehehehe... kidding aside, if u patonize them, you are as guilty as the manufacturer of such. ( Tagalog: Para tayong bumili ng nakaw) Did i make sense?

Thank you all for taking time and providing your comments .It is quite heart warming to feel that the PinoyMTBiker family is basically concerned in the welfare of a fellow biker. I started this thread basically to solicit the most comments about this product before actually deciding to purchase .My apologies that I may sound antagonistic at times. But that is how I feel on the best approach on how to get more comments on how good or bad the frame really is.I want objective and non objective comments to surface so that all angles will be considered before it is even decided on.

good morning fellow biker have read some of the comments given and everyone do have their own points good or bad.
So was just wandering just how much does this replica cost? how much does its original counterpart (if any) cost?

may I ask why interested in this particular frame? As you mentioned, you wanted a decent and affordable FS frame.
If that's the case, then you should expand your search to other original and decent of even 2nd hand frames, 2nd hand NRS or Dakar Sports are already in the less than 20k range, or the Mosso frame above, and many other entry level FS frames out there (like the Giant ATC ba yun?). But of course, the shock is less than stellar (what is the shock on the Sinuperlight anyway?)
Or are you after the bling of riding a Santa Cruz? If that's the case, then having the Sinuperlight completely defeats this purpose as it will never be a Santa Cruz and people can tell right away that it's not a Santa Cruz (I assume above all else, it's the shock that will give it a away, since the original will come with a Fox Float R).
Btw, crush25, the Superlight with a Fox R shock is about $1,200. Dunno about the Sinuperlight.

what ever your frame is, be it a generic quiapo bike or some exotic carbon fiber, titanium alloy or made out of aramid fibers, at the end of the day, remember that ITS NOT THE BIKE, ITS THE RIDER. just my 2cents. ed

precisely the point ...let's have the owners of the replica attest to it's capability or quality! I do agree that there are a lot of frames in the market but for my sake I am unable to purchase anyone of the frames because of the price tag.Pls note that the frame sells only for 4800php in qiuapo. It is a far cry from the price tag of the branded frames.
