Both my son and I use the Minion DHF for an all-Mt front tire, we both use Nevegal on the rear. I like it as a front tire, grabby and secure even on tight turns on loose or slick surfaces.

that is the tire that originally came on my Yeti... it's grippy but a slow roller.

Both my son and I use the Minion DHF for an all-Mt front tire, we both use Nevegal on the rear. I like it as a front tire, grabby and secure even on tight turns on loose or slick surfaces. I agree. Even though I use the Minion for the rear and a Mobster for the front, the Minion's grip is phenomenal. I've used it for both dry and very wet conditions (very hard rain, ika nga) and it doesn't break its grip even at high speeds under very ugly conditions. Heavy? Perhaps. But I can't use light tires anyway so I'm not sure how it measures up to other 'lighter' tires. If you're using Sun rims, it is a bit uh... difficult to mount. But I had more trouble mounting/removing Nevegals than the Minion. Word of advice: whenever a set of Minions (2.35 and 2.5) appears at your suking tindahan, you'd better snap up a set quick. Translation: nag-uunahan kami diyan!

We both use Sun Singletrack rims, and I find both the Minion and the Nevegal quite easy to mount. If you want to see a hard to mount tire, buy a Nokian Gazzaloddi, need the powers of God to get those things onto a rim.

read good reviews about this tire and i was lucky enough to get a pair at cycle art. i chose to buy a set of front tires so i can just rotate them in case the one mounted on the rear is worn out.
its grip is outstanding, it will give you confidence during descent. its ramped center knobs lessens rolling resistance. i wish they came in 2.1's also.

@ brad Bocoycoy, For our type of trails/tracks back at home try this suggestion... > for rainy season: use Maxxis Swampthing both front and rear. > for dry season: use Maxxis High Rollers DH (2.35) both front and rear. I'm sure you'll love it... ... By the way, my tires on my freeride/Dh rig were both High Rollers DH (2.35)... tube is Maxxis DH. I haven't experienced any flat tire on it... Send my greeting to all Dragons...
