levi - the red is for SS and BMX, way overkill for your bike...anyhu, still in production...ETA December @gtu - longer lifespan, quieter, and better shifting. XTR/Dura Ace at tensile 800kgf 304gms 116 links while KMC at 1150 255gms 116 links (X9SL) or the X10SL (DA equivalent) at 1150 kgf 225 gms at 116 links...with proper maintenance, some have even used it for 2 years (dunno the usage though). steep? i agree, a more affordable chain would be KCNC/YBN/Yaban but KMC & Wippermann are the benchmarks for the aftermarket (IMO). Personally, I made the mistake of doing an out of the saddle climb (feeling bata eh) on the wrong gear (no indicator on shifter and too wasted to care). The torque of my weight and wrong gear pulled the wheel out of the dropouts...dunno if that is a plus or minus. Just consoled myself the chain didnt break. ewik - Ti is brittle, Ti Nitride is the one used for ceramic bearings which makes the chain quieter, stronger and faster. Ceramic bearings, as a background are not pure Ti Ni but has a center of carbon chromium steel. It will not fade easily because it is coated 8 times...a production process that takes 5 months, hence the limited quantity....in Manila, the only two left I believe with stocks is Extreme and Cycle Options but replenishment is on the way . HTH.

@owen-If ur using Dura Ace, there are some KMC missing links (10s) available at Extreme. To make it affordable, the blisterpack was foregone, plastic wrapper only. It's selling for US10.00/each but ask for a discount....
Raven/Ben pala also sells the link (generic) but quite good...SRAM-ish for P30 petot yata...limited quantities though

Shimano also has a special chain... golden brown color installed on my DH Rig If I ride a freeride or Dh bike, I would never ever install or even give a thought a chain(KMC, Light chains) like this. As simple as that.

i'm using a KMC gold on the xc with missing links and connex on the AM, i lost the connex links and replaced it with TAYA sigma connectors, they're a pain to install/uninstall, i've yet to know if they will hold i'll see within the coming weeks. if they do hold then they're worth it, for 35petot, i'll not complain uly, ghetto-bling! hahaha

Papa GTU, if ur really pining for KMC...the silver series are coming that'll be swak with your budget...same quality, and lighter than the Gold Ti series but mas maingay since it is not coated with Ti Nitride.

Available now...still original, made more affordable....as stretchproof, as light, and as fast in shifting as the Gold Ti series Please watch out for KMC's advisory on how to spot fake KMC chains and links in this thread. Ride Safe, Buy Genuine.
