Has anyone of you experienced this faulty frame??? I sold quite some of this frame but some was returned and all of them has the same deffect. The right or drivetrain side of the chainstay cracked all the way thru. Seems to me it's a design fault. This is quite alarming to me since everysingle frame returned has an identical and I mean IDENTICAL crack. Parang each crack is a carbon copy of every single one of them. The bad thing was, when I asked my supplier regarding my predicament. All they say is that the frame might be misused & they cannot replace and they refuse to help me. Considering that some of the frames returened are only a few weeks or even just days old.So I came up to a conclusion not to sell any of this frame effective immediately. This frame sucks!!! I also hope to bring this issue to the manufacturer of this piece of junk. If you have any further comments on this. Please do share it with me. Thanks!!! Ride safe!!! Armen

Hmmm... that's strange, does this mean it's just coincidential??? Anyway I have three (3) frames now that has identical cracks. Will post the pics soon so everyone can have look @ it. Sir GBB & sir Bococoy.. Do you recall the built or even the size of the riders you seen using this frame? Are they kinda big or heavy???

I had mine for almost 1 month and I ride at least 4x per week + 1 long ride every weekend. Total of 2 long rides (1 in Sta. Rosa Upak trail and 1 in Mudspring in Los Banos). So far no problems. I 'torture-test' my frame during the downhill ride at mudspring (3.2km of fist-sized rocks and tons of bumps and 'lubaks'. I was expecting it to fail. But surprisingly, it survived the ride.
Maybe it was designed for light-weight people like me. I weigh 130lbs. And the rear-shock did'n even bottomed-out. ;D

yah ...maybe weight matters..
my friends who use this frame...ranges from 130lbs-160lbs..
though they are not that daredevil when it comes to DH, but they use it twice a week on long trails..so far, no problem with their frames..

Sir armen... better post pics...... about the rider who joined the 24hr using the "santacruz superlight" is a medium built but i can say he's really aggressive during the race.... but the whole course doesn't have huge drop but instead full of challenging slopes and single track............

How about thinking the batch of the frame where it came from, maybe the first batch were built better compared to the next batches.
You can check it maybe in the series of the serial numbers.

i had the same problem. i broke mine a couple of weeks ago. i just rode it down a short course in down a short downhill course. i think it is about the weight of the rider, im 6'2 and weighs about 160 lbs.
and what is more interesting is the broken part as sir armen is describing is as same as mine!

@brad armen, could you also check how the bike was ridden? there was a thread here a few months back on the review of replica frames and this Santa Cruz Superlight replica was very much topping the charts. It could be, they we're ridden with DH in mind while the original frame was designed for XC just my thoughts though. but since the cracks were all on the same location. yeah, better check for batch numbers

- more like rebranded. it wouldn't sell so good on it's own as a diamondback, so they decided to sell it as a knockoff. MBUK were testing out under $500.00 (?) built bikes.

actually, even the authentic Santacruz Superlight I think has a weight limit, around 160lbs or so I think.
