Maybe you got a busted fork? tsk! With mine, I do feel it stiffening while I turn clockwise (+), I tried it from zero(-) and I feel it playing soft one bumps and when I bake. Baka kelangan lang ng break-in?! ;D .... my wife's been using it for the past 3 months, and since we got the fork, its been that way. oh well.... atleast she enjoys riding the bike. In relation to this concern of our colleague john: Can the Suntour Forks be opened/serviced? Sorry, newbie question.

Try cartimar at Velocity. They service all different types of fork. Bring with you your manual to be sure.

i agree a 101% I beg to dis agree ! We used top of the line brands to have better reliability and peace of mind on far away trail. this may be true to some but to me and my group we bought them to be use where they where designed to. well, i respect for your point of view sir, for me, being expensive fork does not mean the fork is invincible, or not even fork, even other parts, expensive=tough is partially a myth...well kanya kanya tayo, cheers.....

Hello. Im a newbie in this site as well as in MTBing. I wanted to set up a decent MTB but the high end forks were way out of the budget. I researched the internet and came across suntour forks which had very good reviews.
I first wanted to get the Epicon model which costs around 4-5k. However, I could not find one. I finally was able to get an Axon (higher model than Epicon) for only 6.3K. It has a remote lock out already and weighs only 3.7lbs compared to the Epicon which was 4.1lbs. I was able to compare the weight since the shop was able to source an Epicon fork as well.
I could not post my review on the fork yet since I will only be able to test it on trail tomorrow. Wish me luck!

hey have fun on the trails tomorrow nikonfanatic. most lower end models of suntour like the xcr do not have much features except for pre-load adjustment and lockout for the other model but still performs well. the axon i think comes with a rebound adjustment already so it should perform better.

I used to own a suntour xcr. it does it's job pretty well for the price and needs almost no maintenance besides the occasional cleaning and regreasing every now and then. I did have a couple of problems with it though: 1. the seals did not hold up for very long and quite soon i had melted grease on the stanchions on every ride. 2. the fork was too soft for my weight and bottomed out on regular braking and on rough and rocky descents. 3. my own fault for leaving the lock out on when i went into a rocky descent ended up breaking the hydraulic damping so that the fork only gave about 2 inches of travel after that. for the money though wala ka nang mahahanap na mas maganda.

I owned Suntour XCR with remote speed lockout for my 1st built bike and have no complained on its performance except for its weight.
I'm thinking of replacing it by much lighter one with the same performace, btw my rig is a XC bike (Giant Anthem), any suggestion. thanks.

We were at Kings the other day and there were new Suntour Duro forks on display there. I think those were the new ones... prolly 09 models or something. Two models to choose from, both are thru-axles and really beefy stanchions with anodized gold color. Pretty pricey though, the black one for P11,500 and the white one with more adjustment knobs at P16,500.
