That is the cons of the wireless. need to replace the battery from time to time. not like the wired cycle comp. after you installed it, nothing to worry for long time...

when you need consistency and dependability, go for wired. i switched back to wired becoz there were lapses or misreadings. interference could be caused by powerlines, magnetic fields and other wireless devices.
the only dependable wireless cyclocomputer would be the one which has coded wireless transmission. i think the new double wireless cateyes should work well but its a bit pricey. darn thing has coded trasmission so the HRM reading doesn't mix with the cyclo computer function.

How much that one sir? Thanks for the replies guys Anyway, I settled for the YPK CronoSport Wireless Version. I didn't want to get another Cateye para maiba naman. Everyone seems to have a Cateye eh ;D I bought mine in All Terra and I was choosing between the topeak mini Panoram, but I got the YPK because of the wireless feature. One feature I wish I had though was a backlight for night rides... I think the micro wireless has one. This is a pic of the YPK, but they changed the markings to X2...

This thread is kinda old but then for reference, I'll add the cyclocomputer I've been using for 3 months now. It's a wired Tempo III cyclocomputer which I bought at Alabados along Kamias st. for P290. (Cheap! ;D) It's water resistant and has 8 functions - daily distance, ave. distance, ave. speed, max. speed, current speed, total distance, current distance, and time. It's reliable and accurate enough. The other cyclocomps I checked out are quite expensive for me since I just use it for kicks. Here's a pic:

I have a wired serfas (Level 2) and when I got it wet, some pixels went dead. I'm thinking of replacing it with a micro wireless but not now. Tooo much gastos nowadays

Is it in Quezon City?

Yup, Alabados is in Q.C. Here's their complete address I got from one of the threads here in PinoyMTBiker:
Alabados Cycle Center
115-C Kamias St., QC (in front of Shell gas station) Tel. 435-0843
Tempo III is really cheap. You can buy 2 for the price of one lowend cateye cyclocomp or 5 Tempos for the price of 1 Topeak cyclocomp. ;D
You know, I plotted my usual route from my house to my office via Google earth (there's this ruler thing wherein you can measure the distance from one point to another. Cool feature!). I then used my Tempo III and biked to work. Lo and Behold! I got the same number of kilometers that I got in Google Earth! (Well, give or take 0.1 of a km.) hehehe! Maybe you guys should try Google Earth and plot your routes or trails, too.
