I promised my eldest daughter I'll take her to where we "grown-ups" normally bike this weekend. So we woke up at 630AM, breakfast, suited up and off we went. at the lake, 3Km away from home Yes, Monty you need to cross the rickety wooden bridge. After the lady please... good job! first rest-stop...refreshment with the roadies at a village near manila east approaching the backdoor gate of highlands pointe at san beda gate, 9Km from home approaching her first major climb 2nd rest-stop sideways first to get the balance then climb straight again! sprinting to the top. off-the-saddle style, no less! Excellent ride Monty! Appropriately she had a picture at the target trail-end at her namesake place. Her full name is Montserrat. Mommy get's to congratulate her over the phone too. of course she enjoyed the dh part, albeit on a very conservative pace. brakes worked well of course, I checked carefully before the ride. you gotta! fast enough to overtake a pison! confident at off-road a real mountain biker gets mud on the bike and on her outfit...even a paulinian kid 18Km later...a happy biker enters her home to be my baby once more ;D a heavy downpour right after the ride sealed a great day and she shared it with her 3 siblings ;D

Thanks for looking Yukon. Even days after the ride she's still excited about it and can't wait for the next ride. And also, how come I haven't "trailed" with you sir? You're quite famous with the pasig riders!

We've done some complete family rides but only in the village. The youngest is 5 y.o. and needs some more time in the saddle to know how to bike properly with other bikers and even more - vehicles! that's the way to go ... start'em young... heehee Looking back I wasn't even into trail biking at 10, all i have is my "manila bike ss" for village rides. Thanks for looking Steven Hey Rex, Thanks for sharing the pix. Incridible kid, that's quite a tough ride. Btw, where does the lake above located is that somewhere Taytay also? Cheers! Yo Mice, the lake is in the boundaries of Cainta, Taytay, Pasig and Taguig. It's only 3Km from where we live in Greenwoods and has a great view of the laguna lake. you also see alabang, makati and Ortigas CBDs as there are no tall obstructions, just over-grown kangkong ;D im sure this happy bonding moment is already forever etched in monty's memory. congratulation rexman and monty. Mr. Sockman!!! truly was a bonding moment, hope she remembers this when I already need a bike upgrade when she can afford to buy me one when I'm retired Congratulations Monty and Sir Rexman. A nice way to spend quality time with our kids. I'd do the same when my kids are ready. Thanks a lot SB, again 3 y.o. is old enough to start them pedalling! Congrats Monty and to your proud Dad! Hey Rex, let's trail the trail. Hey Mike, the "trail" is now being closely montiored by guards at the higlands pointe rear gate. One even accosted one of us saying "sinabihan na kayong private property to"... and then walked away...
