got a question for guys with the spyders. i was looking at a pair and i noticed the rubber parts on the nose stem and the ear stem, my experienced with my oakleys are they get worn out after a while but you could buy replacements. i asked the saleslady if it's the same with spyders and she said replacements are not available. is this true? and do the rubber pieces wear out quickly? get something else.... i don't trust the spyder brand anymore... i think tofi, me and marvs has the same sentiments with that brand.... the hinge is very weak...

Fury is good enough. I was even told that they use the same lenses that Rudy has. In fact, Rudy has the same frame model as the Fury shades I'm using now.

i know i asked opinions about the spyder glasses here and inspite of the bad reviews, i got one. of all the glasses i tried, this was the most affordable pair that came with the set of interchangeable lenses i wanted, the tinted lenses for sunny days, amber lenses for greater visibility and clear ones for japorms. this is very important for me since i never ride without glasses, and the interchangeable lenses makes it adaptable to all weather conditions. the fit is great, so great in fact that it fogs up, but this only happens when i'm doing uphills and perspiring intensely. it also came with a hardcase which is also a bonus. overall i'm satisfied with this because i got a good pair without breaking the bank...

anyone used mojave sunglases? the one featured on home TV shopping, they say its indestructible , and doesn't have those magnification problems mentioned. I have a Mojave shades, pawned to me by co-riders, 12 this is ok, and very practical, seems that you own 12 different shades. sir bernie, do you where i can purchase the frame of the MOJAVE SHADES? i have one set before but the frame was broken, i still have four (4) sets of the lens and i would like to use it again but i do not know where to get a frame only. Can you help me with this? thanks buknoy here

I personally recommend KONTROL, its cheap, light, durable and does not produce distortion. yup, i like my Kontrol (i've 2), it's always bright outside dehins nagda-dark ang vision mo, but there's no glare. also the lens are shatter-proof. dropped mine many many times and they're still okay. once i dropped the one i use daily (non-biking), medyo heavy kasi ang frame and it fell hard so natanggal yung screw. couldn't find the screw on the ground. i just brought it to an optical shop that sells Kontrol and had them replace the screw--Php30 for the part and service. not bad! a pari costs Php1K+. have that problem too. i read somewhere that the drops used for diving masks to prevent fogging works for glasses too. haven't tried it yet though... the one for diving? we use toothpaste. i also remember the time when our diving instructor refer to this certain bottle of liquid as "anti-fog solution", although i'm pretty sure it was just shampoo. toothpaste and the "anti-fog solution" works in diving, but isn't fogging in diving masks different from fogging sunglasses? i have to remember to try that though any other riders have a solution? we use good ol' spit heheh. works best in my opinion, better than any toothpaste or anti-fog solution i've tried. anyway if you use anti-fog solution on your biking glasses you will still need to rinse it and wait for it to dry.

Spyders - after a while, the hinge area breaks. But mine lasted for 2 years. For the price, ok lang. I had a oakley zero that cost 7 times as much and lasted only 3 1/2 years. the lens snapped. I also had an old Oakley Mframe. Lens still alive, but the frame is gone after 4-5 years. Problem is, since its an old model, no replacement frames are available anymore.
for me, I'm done with expensive shades/sunglasses. the cheaper the better. No regrets if you scratch them or break them. just buy another pair.

mga brad yung spyder ko ok pa naman, rain or shine suot ko sya. very effictive pag malakas ang ulan. just wish na sana meron sya wipers. hehehehe. yun lang nga medyo worn out na yung rubber sa dulo. pero the lenses are ok. guess that's the important thing thou.
i saw smith optics, meron sila goggles for presciption glasses. pwede yun na gamitin mo brad.
hope this helps.
bolle recoil brad mas maganda!

My first pair of shades were Spyders but had to replace them after a while coz' it was too small for me. Otherwise, I guess I'd still be using them today. How did yours break? You probably sat on it or something?

2700 is quite cheap considering you have 1GB of space. Where can this be bought?

Any other tips other than using spit as anti-fog on the lenses. Speedo anti-fog solutions costs an arm and a leg, seen anything in the market not as expensive and yet just as effective?

An experience with Rudy Project...
I've had a pair of Wizaards for over a year now. The lenses had some blotches on them that wouldn't wipe off, and I'd lost the nose pads. A few shops told me new lenses would be 3000+, but nobody had them in stock. Went to the RP shop in Rockwell, and they exchanged the lenses for only 800+, nosepads were cheap. Like a new pair, for under 1000...

i own a pair of spyders. they suck, unfortunately. the screw/hinge easily gets rust and eats the plastic away. the nose pad easily gets lost and you cant buy it anywhere rendering it useless. what i did is glued the nosepad and the hinge using loctite. got the nosepad from an imitated version of an oakley M frame which i bought in quiapo.
voila! its still working, hehehe. ;D. it will probably the last pair of spyder shades i'll be owning. i'll just by imitated eyeglasses in quaipo from here on, hehehe. ;D . crashing will never be a problem becoz its only worth like P50-P100.

I've been using AXN shades sincle late last year...the ones with replaceable lenses. It's cheap I think (less than 1k) and it doesn't fog up when you stop pedaling.
I stopped using my Rudy Projects cause I'm afraid I might break it one of these days.
