if i had know this frame was this good, i would have only one bike parked in the house! a bit pricey at 25k(frame & seatpost only), but finding myself choosing it over my FS for the past 5 rides , guess that's some indication of how i enjoy using the stumpjumper M4 ;D
fantastic on the climbs, stiff and no discernible flex in all gears including the biggest chainring and the smallest cog...fast and quick on the singletrack...and light.
it is a little twitchy on the semi-technical downhill run, but a wider bar, not too short a stem..oops correction...not too long a stem, and a relaxed but controlled grip compensate for this little complaint. another minor complaint...i don't really like how the cables run on this frame (i.e. under the bottom bracket)
but like any hardtail i guess, rides longer than 3 hours or above 20k, my lower back starts to ache...think i'm still getting out of my "lazy mode" from riding an FS.
overall, i rate this frame a must in your garage! ;D ;D ;D
*...and the choice of bopols if i may add hehehehe

i know what you mean. ganon talaga ata ang stumpy e. you'd have to ride low on the turns (i.e. lean down ala superbikes). it likes to be ridden fast e. kaso di ko kaya ang fast pace, pasyal pace lang ako.

IMO, all bikes beg to be jumped. and yes, 2" riser bars, shorter stems, smaller frame, etc. make it easier to jump a bike at the cost of XC geometry. if you don't use the bar ends during the ride then no use putting them on. added weight lang yun.
