hey guys and gals. i know you all have parts lying around in your house that you know you are NEVER going to use again. why dont you donate it to the lamesa rangers? Baboinsky, Jaybee (does he have a nick on this board) and I had the honor of being escorted by one of the rangers the other day. sadly the bike he was using was beat up beyond recognition. i think the frame was held together by pieces of wood and wire. it even had a nickname: "pajero". here we were on our our bling bling rides while our guide was suffering along on a POS. to make a long story short we decided to start a drive to pool together parts and build a new ride for the rangers. The reason why im posting this here is because this is a pet project that i want to say came from the SS board (and friends) of the PMTBers. other people are more than welcome to donate or start their own projects. to make this different from the donation drive we did before we want to make this a FULLY BUILT BIKE vs. various parts of scrap that may never get built up. so hey, im looking for donations. if we get enough parts going why not more than one right? im based out of makati so im thinking we can drop off the parts in power bikes for the build. i have to ask Ate Ces first if this is okay with them of course. wishful thinking pero sana we can build it within the week. lets see how it goes. in any case below are the parts we will be needing. let me know if i miss anything. sana we can get more than two of each part needed para we can see if we can actually build up more than one bike! just stick your name and type of part your donating and when it can be available. guys, USABLE parts okay? i want this bike to last. you know youve been looking for a reason to upgrade maybe this is it furthermore if youve got gear and helmets and such you aint using. why not bring them next time you go to lamesa as well. 1. frame 2. fork 3. handlebar 4. stem 5. grips 6. seat 7. seatpost 8. shifters 9. headset 10. Rear derailleur 11. front derailleur 12. cogset 13. cranks 14. pedals 15. rims 16. hubs and QR 17. tires 18. tubes i didnt put a chain or cables since i'd rather get brand new ones so we know its going to last.

Jay, I have a straight bar and stem lying around. The stem is pretty long (130mm ata), but it's in very good condition.
I'll just give it to you

i suggest for starters, build a SS first it needs few parts and low in maintenance.

although ideal from the technical standpoint, i've tried SSing la mesa and it huuuuurts!!!!! if we give them an SS they might think think we have something against them hahahahaha! the ideal ss gear for the climbs in lamesa would only make them spin out in the flats.

word is the bicycle given away at the raffle at lungcaire plus was donated to the la mesa rangers, what a noble deed. and also may i suggest instead of vying for a built geared bicycle why not build them first a single speed bike coz this things need few parts are are easy to maintain. i just want to see them bicycles not to be neglected in a few years.
may i also ask about the funding with the eco park. i do hope everything is not forgotten. do they have emergency kits available now? an ambulance on stand by if any.
i do believe they collect fees don't they. they should have at least basic first aid kits out there. anyways thats one bike donated, God bless that person.

I have a handlebar, stem and old fork...I am on my way to BTC in Makati either today or tomorrow, who would want to pick it up from there. I am not a resident of Metro Manila so can anyone collect my donation, please.
I have a suggestion, keep on collecting old parts until we are able to build several bikes...whatever is missing, maybe we can collect cash donations as well to buy the parts that are missing. Don't concentrate on only one bike but keep accepting old parts...and to prevent any doubts, prepare a running inventory. I know parts are just lying in our storage rooms and it is better for us to donate these for a good cause...if there's a scarcity of frames,we can buy cheap but usable ones.
I am willing to help you guys in whatever way I can...God bless your endeavors...
