Builders were a large group of local volunteers, Randy Spangler and Eric Carter... A velodrome, DH course are already planned. The XC Trails (about 6 miles of singeltrack) has already been built. Hmmm... I wonder if I can manage to kill myself on some of these...

Sorry, no action shots since I was solo... Here are some photos I took during my runs... The easiest run is called "Soiler" as in, "I just soiled my pants"... I spent all my runs on this trail just trying to figure out the technique. By my fourth run, I was barely using my brakes and trying to pump the bumps for more speed... The intermediate run The expert run There are also about 6 miles of XC singletrack and an additional 30 miles of singletrack to be built all the way up to the ridge (about 4k feet of climbing) which will connect to another few hundred miles of trails... The pump track. Riding a pump track is harder than it looks!

no sea otter for me this year. the last time I went was about 14 years ago. i remember driving to the East Bay from Boise a few years ago (I had some work in Pleasanton) and it took me about 12 hours in a very fast car... It's fast from Boise to Sacramento then everything slows down around the Bay area... You should try to come up in the summer... some awesome riding up here in the mountains...

Nice pics, Flip! If you're that close to pumptracks & jumps, might as well build a DJ or 4x hardtail. It's gonna be worth it.
They really did an amazing job on those tracks.

nice sir Flip! I agree with you with regards to the pump tracks.......it's actually a workout hehehe chest, back, legs, arms and cardio at the same time, we have the same in cunningham park and its just 15 mins bike ride from my place. Oh go with Answa's suggestion with the hardtail 4x, dj set-up its more fun, and you will feel the pump more.... ok sir thanks for sharing the pics

anshwa- actually eric carter and randy spangler will be coming back to finish the 4X track (it's half finished) later this spring and it will be World Cup quality. There will also be freeride lines with natural and man made features (think Shore but with no trees and lots of rock features)...
evs- you can map quest east bay to boise and it's going to be way more than 3 hours. definitely not a day trip drive but more of a long weekend kinda trip.
alpha- i drive since i bring the big bike (with stick-e 2.5 tires) when i go. fortunately, there are a bunch of singletrack in the same place so i can get my xc fix at the same time... it's definitely worth the short drive but i only hit it in the morning so i don't get in the way of the more experienced riders and get my runs in solo with no distractions... malamig lang sa umaga...

Flip Alpha
I've been riding the 575 (which is built up burly for Moab trips) but I've been thinking of a dedicated big bike (the new 303 7 looks good but i need to "deserve" a bike like that first)...

They might have that ready by Interbike, more reason to visit Nevada in September. Yeti was in full force last year at Bootleg.

Yeti seems to be the platform Fox is using to demo the 09's so I expect the same as well. If you go, make sure you ride the 7 and report back!
